My passion in life has always been to help others.
I started out professionally as a librarian. I worked primarily in the medical field helping health sciences students and faculty as well as hospital employees find the information they need. Being a librarian was rewarding for me; however, I have always had a passion to work with animals. I especially value the bond created between pets and their families, it's like no other due to the unconditional love. I knew I could help strengthen and preserve this bond by becoming a veterinarian. So I left librarianship and joined the veterinary profession. I graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. I started practicing veterinary medicine in Saskatchewan working with all types of animals – cats, dogs, horses, cattle, alpacas, sheep, even lizards! I eventually narrowed my focus to helping families with cats and dogs only. I returned to BC (where I was born and raised) and started working in the lower mainland where I saw there was a need for a mobile vet to provide pet euthanasia at home.
My sweet German Shepherd, Toblerone (Toby for short), was diagnosed with cancer at only 3 years old. We said goodbye to him peacefully at my home outside on the grass (his favourite spot to watch for squirrels) at the end of March 2019. I miss him everyday but am grateful to have been able to give him the very best last days and the most peaceful goodbye imaginable. Being at home and having the time and space I needed to say goodbye allowed me to have the closure I needed as well. Though it was sad to say goodbye, I am grateful for his life and that he is at peace.
Having gone through this myself, I strive to give families a similar experience. I am a very caring and compassionate person. I am patient and will allow for the time necessary to give families the closure they need. I am particularly passionate about having the whole family present including children and other pets because it is important to help them understand and give them opportunity to say goodbye as well.
With my innate passion to help others, my practice, Peaceful Pets At Home Veterinary Care, allows me to do just this.
Please reach out. I am honored to be able to help families in Mission, Abbotsford, Maple Ridge, and Langley.

The "Fear-Free" initiative aims to “take the ‘pet’ out of ‘petrified’”. Fear-Free professionals use considerate approach and gentle control techniques in calming environments. Utilization of Fear-Free methods and protocols leads to reduction or removal of anxiety triggers, which creates an experience that is rewarding and safer for all involved including pets, their owners, and veterinary health care teams.
To become certified, veterinarians are required to complete a comprehensive, 8-part educational course and exam. They also have to take continuing education to remain certified. The training and certification program helps veterinarians modify their procedures, handling, and facilities to help pets feel safe and comfortable while receiving the medical care they need. It is designed to ease the stress, fear and anxiety so many pets experience while at the veterinarian.
My poor dog Toby was diagnosed with cancer and was eased from his struggles in March 2019. Soon after, my friend's cat and Toby's best cat friend, Huckleberry, was also euthanized - also due to cancer. Huckleberry used to headbutt Toby with such strength and affection! So one day I was missing the two of them and doodled this picture! It makes my heart smile so much! I decided to use this doodle as my logo for Peaceful Pets. Both of these beloved pets were able to have a very peaceful goodbye at home with their families close. This is my hope for all pets at the end of their time here with us. Thanks Toby and Huckleberry; you will always be remembered!
please send me a text or e-mail including what city you live in, and I will respond when I can in between helping other families during my contact hours.
